 According to a review of evidence(证据) in a medical journal, runners live three years   21  than non-runners. You don't have to run fast or for long  22  the benefit.    The best exercise is the one that you enjoy and will do. And I think it's probably running. To avoid knee pain, you can get good running shoes first, run on soft surfaces, then avoid high hills when you do exercises. Running can help to 28  our leg muscles(肌肉).
