Usually, it is officially held in February. A week of extravagant parades, costumes, dancing, makes this one of the most exciting festivals in the world, with two million people per day on the streets. The first festivals of Rio date back to 1723.
Saint Patrick's Day Festival
It is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17th March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the most important patron(守护神) saint of Ireland. There will be a grand parade, music, comedy, film and drinking. It was made an official Christian feast day in the early 17th century.
Grape Throwing Festival
It is a harvest festival in September and celebrates wine making and other foods and drinks made from grapes. Grape festivals are celebrated as a tradition in various parts around the world. Throwing huge amount of grapes at people and participating in other fun events are a tradition.
Love Parade
One of the world's biggest festivals in Germany in December was celebrated from 1989-2003 to 2006-2010. It included electronic music, costumes, and "let-lose” behavior. Unfortunately because of the deaths of 21 participants in 2010 due to overcrowding, the Love Parade has been canceled ever since.
