I have been a music fan ever since I was a little kid. It must have been my eldest brother who brought me to the world of music, which later in my life became the source of happiness
and sadness. My brother liked to play the dizi, a very traditional musical instrument which was very popular in the 1970's. Greatly influenced by his enthusiasm to music, I learned to play the dizi in my spare time.
Do you know what the most popular form of culture was in the 1970's? The so-called model dramas, that is, "Modern revolutionary Beijing opera", which were officially formed during the Cultural Revolution. Their materials were from the communist activities or related subjects. From morning till night, you would hear them broadcast over and over again. Frankly speaking, model dramas served as my guide to music to some extent(程度)because the music was really wonderfully made.
